Springtime fun...

So like I said in my previous post...we were able to be outside and for some crazy reason the kids thought it's be cute to play in the water that dripped from the hose. BUT b/c of that I was able to get some really cute video of the kids having way to much fun in the water. Did I mention it wasn't all the warm out. In the 60s maybe....and breezy.

A year today

One year ago today my mother passed away. WOW! It is so hard to believe it's been a year already. Things have went so quickly. Last year after mom passed away we made a garden at our house and named it "Mama's Garden." In the past few weeks we have been working on it getting it ready for this spring. And since I knew it was going to rain on Mother's day we worked outside on Saturday trying to get things planted. So Here are a few pictures from this past saturday. The kids enjoyed it and apparently so did the cat. I didn't realize until I downloaded the pics off my camera that our cat was laying in the flower bed under the bench. Which kinda has it's own humor. My mom hated my cats...my cats hated mom. Greg always told her it was b/c cats sense evil...ha! They were so rotten to each other. Anyways...here are the kids planting flowers in Mama's garden.

Soccer Saturday 1st Game

Here are just a few pics of Grant's first soccer game. I didn't take a whole lot of action shots as I was busy videotaping the game. Grant enjoyed it and ever scored a goal! He was so excited!! I got that on video and it's an awesome thing to see!! :)

Here he is waiting for his turn to go back in.
Showing off his jersey and soccer attire after the game.
There he is chatting with his coach awaiting the ball to be tossed back inbounds.

My newest craft!

So I'm now considering myself "someone who sews" I'm am SO PROUD of myself. (Patting myself on the back) :)

With everyone and everything around us "going green" I wanted to do my part. A friend of mine (thanks betsy) posted this on a craft forum and I fell IN LOVE with them. She swore I could do these even though I hadn't sewed a whole lot. I know my basics and that's about it. So I decided a few weeks back to buy the material. It sat on my counter for a few weeks then it made its way to my "sewing" room. Then this past weekend my sister said she was going to try to make one. So I decided it was time. That way we could compare notes and I'd have her help if I needed. Well when I called her all ready to go she had just got her sewing machine set up. So I attempted things on my own but warned my sister I'd be calling back with help along the way. I might add that some of the things I called about even confused my sister and she has sewn for years. After about 6 phones calls (sorry sis-ha) I FINISHED a project. I made my very own CLOTH Grocery bag to cut back on my usuage of plastic bags. :) My husband AND brother-in-law think it'd be easier to spend a dollar and buy the wal-mart ones but I think these are WWAAYYYY cooler! :) I'd like to set shop up and actually sell these at some point. But for now I'll take orders and hopefully by the fall have a craft booth lined up somewhere.

Here's a shot of the inside and what it can hold. I still had room left! And even though the stuff was heavier stuff it didn't make your arm hurt like the plastic ones do!
